Four Senior DIY’s

Hollister's new senior collection disappointed many of us.  Am I jealous of last year's class for being able to have cute senior themed tops? Maybe. But don’t settle for a generic top when our class practically grew up watching Troom Troom DIY videos. Well, it’s time to put those skills to use because I have compiled four senior DIY’s for you! (my credits: I keep exchanging multiple DIY senior tiktok’s with one of my friends…our craft day still pending)

  1. The Infamous SENIOR patchwork

We have to start spicing up our closets before senior year arrives, AND what better way to do that then to create and design your own. I am sure we’ve all seen the patchwork tops that say senior..but why stop there? How about patchwork skirts, hoodies, tote bags, etc. So grab all of your scissors and get working. But don't forget the most important part of this project…go absolutely CRAZY! Try different color patterns, add those random beads, cut up the shirt. It’s senior year, don’t be afraid to be yourself times 100.

  1. Senior Year Disposable Cameras

Saw this one on Pinterest and immediately knew this would be on my top four.  Now, the ones I found are a little bit plain but don’t let that stop you. Let’s remember our bedazzling era, okay?  If not, use Sharpies or paint to doodle all over them. This camera will hold many of your last high school memories so why should it be ordinary? It’s literally your senior year camera…just don’t forget to throw it in your purse when you go out!

  1. Senior Year Crown B*tch

Look, we wore tiaras and crowns when we were younger and now I don’t see anyone out there stopping us from wearing them now. Senior year is supposed to be fun. If there is ever an opportunity to be a little extra, do as I say and wear your crown.

  1. Senior Box

People call it being a hoarder,  but I think it’s cute to save random trinkets because they often hold so many memories. Picture yourself at the end of senior year, opening your box and you pick up a sticker. Suddenly, you are able to pinpoint the exact situation where that sticker came into your life and you chuckle. See simple Items like tickets, polaroids, random food run receipts, stickers, bracelets, deserve a little spot inside your decorated box. A small detail that your future self might thank you for.

I know it is still summer and some of us don’t even want to think about starting school but these DIY’s might help some of us overcome the dreadful seniorities. So, I hope some of these ideas end up on your bucket list with friends and you create the most beautiful crafts ever! After all, adding a little bit of extra whimsy never hurt anyone.

Love you all,

Bye Bye
