Well it is officially November and it is getting to the end of the first semester. I genuinely don’t know how I feel about my life right now. I have started to go to tutorials for genuine reasons, I have spent my afternoons researching about schools and summer programs, I have spent less time doing what I love more time doing homework, all of this leading to…my life getting more serious? I can still picture myself back in freshman year with all of these possibilities upon me, now I am, dare I say stuck? But because I have all of these emotions I know what makes me feel better. Writing on my blog. Hi. I wish I had the time and the energy to write everyday, maybe I will let you guys give me suggestions on what to write about.

Anyways fall has always been my favorite season not because the leaves change and the weather gets a little friskier (I have forgotten about the fact that California weather doesn’t exactly change but I am just picturing my Michigan days). But because November is here I have decided to make a list (the lists are back, maybe I will be okay after all) about my favorite fall things.

Maria’s Fall Favorites

  1. I am chic baby

I have to admit I am a pinterest addict. There, I have said it. I scroll endlessly looking at pictures of fashionista girls and videos of different ways to live your life and recently I have been obsessed with the one and only lifestyle. Chic. Is it a lifestyle? I don’t know but for me it is. Chic to me is classy but cute. Classy as in clothes that fit together well but make you stand out like neutral colored jeans and tops that either A. make you look like a 35 year old mother or B. make you look incredibly CHIC. Chic is having bare nails and forgetting your jewelry everyday  and feeling absolutely sexy about it.

  1. Mugs and Candles

I love having empty mugs lingering in my bedroom and lit candles. Like my good friend Julia would say “Sue me.” Because truly why do I like empty mugs? Because I feel so cozy and warm (Or are you trying to say that you are too lazy to take them downstairs to the dishwasher). I recently went to TJ Maxx one random night alone. I walked along the aisles looking for whatever came to me and then BAM sugar cookie candle staring right at me. I have never been a candle person but damn I knew I had to buy it. So now my mornings consist of me lighting my candle and calming myself down for an incredible day.

  1. Reading Classical Books

Okay this one might be a little off topic but I feel like it goes with my Chic vibe. I am in AP Lang and I have had two FRQ’s that I have written and for both I have used very interesting pieces of evidence. For example I have used Eminem (yes the rapper), the movie Descendents, and a made up story about my brother. Don’t worry I got an 85 on both. Anyway I realized how I need to become more literate and intellectual this year and reading classical books will help me not only for my own writing but to have more information to help me for those darn FRQ’s. I don’t know about you guys but the fall weather makes me eager to learn about new things. Like can you imagine yourself just laying around reading a very studious book looking A. Fabulous while B. becoming informed.

  1. Sleeping late

This one is a doozy. Sleeping late is not good AT ALL and I am not intending for this to sound like it's a good thing but lately sleeping late has made me so much more productive for homework. I am the kind of person who gets random bursts of energy and attention spans but only at night around 10:30-12:30, so I take the opportunity and light my candle and put on my favorite show on the side and get all of my work done. And if not, I get my random bursts of energy at 5am and yes I do in fact wake up and do homework before school. Sleeping late is just another factor for fall that makes these months more intense and interesting!

  1. Baking

Yup this one's a basic baby but dont judge. I recently gained a small little crush on someone and baking has helped me cope because I hate liking people. Because baking is a little more fun when you have someone in mind…am I right? So I have been learning new recipes and trying different methods. Currently I have only made snickerdoodles and chocolate chip cookies and my next plan is mini apple pies. So excited! Baking genuinely makes me so happy because I get to stress out about whether I am doing it right instead of school!!!!

Okay this list is random but I hope you guys enjoyed my random burst of wanting to write about my current favorite things this fall. Stay tuned for more writing and have an amazing week!

I love you all!

Bye Bye
